Credit Flexibility/Educational Option
The board recognizes that an effective educational program is one that provides opportunities for students to customize aspects of their learning around their respective needs and interests. Credit flexibility is one method to motivate and increase student learning by allowing access to more resources, customization around individual student needs and the use of multiple measures of learning. For identified gifted students, the Educational Option policy is another way of allowing this customization. A copy of both guidelines and application processes may be obtained in the high school office.

Warren County Career Center
Wayne Local Schools is an educational partner of the Warren County Career Center. WCCC offers career technical programs for high school and adult students at its campus located in Lebanon, and provides satellite programs at Waynesville High School and Junior High School. High school students may take Pre-Engineering: a Project Lead The Way program, Information Technology, and Family and Consumer Science right here at WHS. Junior High students may take Gateway to Technology programs to explore STEM career options. Students have the ability to earn college credits and industry certifications through Career Technical Education programs, gaining advantages in the job market and saving on the high cost of college tuition. Ask your counselor about these options, visit WCCC during designated tour days, and check out the Warren County Career Center website. Application typically begins in early December and you can find the link on their High School Programs page. You may also call their Student Services Department at 513/932-5677 ext. 5292 to set up a personal visit or request more information.
