In the heart of Waynesville, the Waynesville Leo Club stands as a beacon of service and excellence, making waves within the Lions Club International community. From individual accolades to collective triumphs, their journey exemplifies the spirit of dedication, compassion, and community impact. Chartered in August of 2023, the club has performed over 30 service projects and proudly accumulated over 1100 hours in service hours for their community.

The Waynesville Leo Club soared to great heights this year as they clinched 2nd place in the Leo Club of the Year competition at the state level. Their commitment to service and leadership didn't stop there; within their district, they clinched the top spot, earning the esteemed title of District 13 OH 6 Leo Club of the Year. These accolades serve as a testament to their unwavering dedication to serving their community and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Individually, one shining star from the Waynesville Leo Club, Ashlyn Callahan, was recognized as a beacon of inspiration and service. She emerged as a finalist and ultimately the winner of the Lions Club International Foundations Leo of the Year award. Ashlyn's dedication to service and her leadership qualities will inspire others to follow in her footsteps. She has been a great leader as President of the club this past year and was re-elected for the upcoming year by the members of the club. During the year she recruited 16 members to the club!

Behind every successful club stands a dedicated advisor, providing guidance, support, and encouragement every step of the way. Cathy Joefreda Taylor, the passionate advisor of the Waynesville Leo Club, has been instrumental in their journey to success. Cathy's unwavering commitment to the club's mission and her tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed. She was recently recognized as the District 13 OH 6 Lion of the Year, a testament to her outstanding contributions to the Leo movement. Additionally, Cathy was honored with the Multiple District 13 Council Chairman's Award of Excellence for her exceptional work with the Waynesville Leo Club.

None of these achievements would be possible without the hard work and dedication of the members of the Waynesville Leo Club. Their willingness to serve their community, their passion for making a difference, and their commitment to the Leo motto "We Serve" have been the driving force behind the club's success.
