Reminder: Early Release set for November 23, 2021:

Wayne Local Schools will have a district wide two (2) hour early release on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 so staff members can participate in school emergency training.  All staff members will be required to attend and participate in the training provided by our School Resource Officer, Shannon Mermann, and Waynesville Police Department.  Now that we are in our new elementary school and new grade configurations, staff training is vital to school security procedures and awareness. 

The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priority.  Throughout the year, Wayne Local Schools perform various safety drills including fire, bus evacuation, severe weather, building evacuation and lockdown.  The lockdown procedures and safety drills are evaluated for improvements after each drill. The two hour early release on November 23rd will be the Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving break from November 24th through November 26, 2021.
