Recycling Club students are eager to bring back the recycling program while learning life skills. Students will create checklists during the week, and then pick up recycling containers from all teachers on Fridays. Students will be wearing yellow vests, have clipboards to remember which bins have been picked up and which bins need returned. At the end of the day students will bring the recycled paper to the outside bin.

Every time we recycle, we save our environment a little more. We cut fewer trees, use less water and energy. All products require natural resources to produce and our growing population is straining our planet with our need for more raw materials. Let's keep our trash away from the landfills and recycle what we can.

The principle of reducing waste, reusing and recycling resources and products is often called the "3Rs." Reducing means choosing to use things with care to reduce the amount of waste generated. Reusing involves the repeated use of items or parts of items which still have usable aspects. Recycling means the use of waste itself as resources. Waste minimization can be achieved in an efficient way by focusing primarily on the first of the 3Rs, "reduce," followed by "reuse" and then "recycle."

Waste management is beneficial for both kids and adults. Being raised in an environment where people know how to reduce garbage and recycle it properly, your child will become a responsible and thoughtful member of the community.
