Thursday, February 16th the Lady Spartans went head to head with the Carroll Patriots on the road at Trotwood Madison. Early on the Patriots had captured the lead giving little chance for the Spartans to get in the game. The second quarter saw the Spartans attempt to come back, outscoring the Pats as Carroll took the game into the second half with a score of 26-32. The second half of the game looked much like the first quarter with Carroll outsourcing the Spartans without giving much chance for the Lady Spartans to get in the game. Ultimately the Lady Spartans season came to an end as they fell to the Carroll Patriots in a final score of 43-66.

On Tuesday, the Lady Spartans flew away with the win against the Clinton Massie Falcons on the road in the second round of tournament play. The first half saw the Lady Spartans pick up the lead in the second after being barely outscored in the first quarter, after this the Spartans capitalized not only on their amazing offensive production, but were also able to keep the Falcons at bay for a considerable portion of the game. The second half of the game had looked about the same with the Spartans putting on an impressive display against the Falcons, ultimately crushing Clinton Massie in a final score of 51-34 resulting in a Spartans win. On Thursday, the Lady Spartans season ended with a loss to Carroll 43-66 at Trotwood Madison. The Lady Spartans had a great season and received many league honors.

Last Saturday, the Lady Spartans took on the Legacy Christian Knights at home. The Lady Spartans had capitalized on an early lead giving virtually no chance for the Knights to get onto the scoreboard. During the second quarter the Lady Spartans continued their momentum going into the half with a score of 24-7. In the second half Waynesville continued to push their lead as Legacy continued to struggle to put up the points they needed to win. The game ended with the Knights falling to Waynesville with a final score of 48-44.
 
On Monday, the Lady Spartans crushed the Blanchester Wildcats on the road. The Spartans had easily taken the lead early on and held on to it, keeping the Wildcats basically out the game with most of their efforts to get on the board being squashed by the Lady Spartans. The game largely stayed the same with Waynesville taking the game into the second half with a score of 41-10. The second half saw more of the same with the Lady Spartans maintaining their lead while Blanchester tried and failed to lessen their deficit. In the end Blanchester crumbled under the Spartans with a final score of 72-23 resulting in a Spartans win.
 
 On Thursday, the Lady Spartans went toe to toe with the Carlisle Indians at home. The Spartans established themselves as the team to beat early on putting on an offensive clinic while also keeping the Indians off the scoreboard for the majority of the initial two quarters and went into halftime with a score of 31-6. The second half was a continuation of the first half with the Lady Spartans playing extremely dominant while also shutting Carlisle down when need be. The remainder of the game played out much like the first half as Carlisle stood no match for Waynesville ending with a final score of 63-11 resulting in a Spartans win.

On Monday January 2nd, the Lady Spartans took to the road against the Goshen Warriors. From the beginning of the game both teams had been evenly matched with both teams largely going point for point for the entirety of the first half. The second half saw the Spartans take a much needed lead and held it while barely outsourcing the Warriors. The game ended with Goshen falling to the Spartans with a final score of 48-44.
 
On Thursday, January 5th, the Lady Spartans sought to chop the Oakwood Lumberjacks off the court at home. The Spartans had easily captured the early lead and ran with leaving little chance for Oakwood to get into the game with most of their efforts being squashed by the Lady Spartans. The game largely stayed the same with Waynesville taking the game into the second half with a score of 35-9. The second half saw the Lady Spartans maintaining their lead while Oakwood started to get in the game. It proved to be too little too late however with the Lumberjacks crumbling under the Spartans with a final score of 63-30 resulting in a Spartans win.

Last Saturday, the Lady Spartans took to the road against the Franklin Wildcats. The Lady Spartans quickly took the lead, completely dominating their opposition leaving minimal opportunities for the Wildcats to score. The game had remained largely the same with Waynesville carrying the game into halftime with a score of 39-16. Coming out of half the Lady Spartans didn’t take their foot off the gas and continued to dominate their opposition. The game ended with the Lady Spartans winning with a final score of 63-31.


 On Tuesday, the Lady Spartans went head to head with the Wilmington Hurricanes at home. The game had become a battle early on with both teams scoring generally back and forth with both teams fighting off every single shot. The first half had remained closely contested with the game tied going into halftime. Coming out of the half the game stayed largely the same with both teams fighting for the momentum they needed to win the game. Ultimately the Spartans were beaten just barely in a nail biting final score of 44-45 resulting in a hard loss at home.

On Monday, the Lady Spartans went toe to toe with the Arcanum Trojans at home. The Spartans established themselves as the team to beat early on putting on an offensive clinic while also keeping the Trojans off the scoreboard as much as possible and went into halftime with a score of 9-39. The second half was a continuation of the first half playing extremely dominant while also shutting the Trojans down when need be. The game finally ended with a final score of 21-62 resulting in a Spartans win.
Congratulations to Maggie Stephenson with a school record 14 steals in the game and tied for the 6th most overall in OHSAA Girls Basketball. 
 
On Thursday, the Lady Spartans took on the Eaton Eagles on the road. This game had turned into a dogfight early on with both teams fighting hard for the lead. After a lot of back and forth scoring the Spartans carried the game into halftime with a score of 33-31 in favor of Waynesville. Going into the second half there was more of the same with both teams playing for every possible point. Ultimately the Eagles were no match for the Spartans however, with a final score of 59-50 which resulted in a Spartans win.
