After Waynesville jumped out to a 15-6 lead at the end of the 1st quarter, Purcell Marian turned up the defensive pressure and got to the basket to close the gap and take the lead at halftime. Solid 3 point range shooting and a strong performance in the paint secured the win for Purcell Marian, who advances to the Regional Finals. Junior Megan Bailey battled for position inside grabbing 13 rebounds and 3 blocks in the game. The Lady Spartans finish their season with an impressive 21-5 record. With this year’s wins, head coach Tim Gabbard moves to 8th in the state in all-time wins with 628.
