Eclipse - April 8th, 2024
Wayne Local Schools will observe a calamity day on Monday, April 8, 2024 due to the historically significant solar eclipse that will take place across Ohio and our region.
There will be no school for students or staff on this day and other campus activities may be altered as well.
As the anticipation builds for the upcoming total solar eclipse, Dayton Children’s has partnered with the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery and On Our Sleeves, a movement for children's mental health, to ensure that this once-in-a-lifetime event can be enjoyed safely and mindfully by all families.
Understanding the unique blend of excitement such a rare event can evoke in children, Dayton Children's has created a series of videos outlining safety tips and general information about the cosmic event.
